Abdullah Al-Mamun Theatre School celebrated its 27th anniversary with the slogan
“Alakshikha Jaluk Prane” at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday.
The day long festival started at 10.30 am by arranging a seminar titled ‘‘Classical Theatre and Contemporary Production Experiment’’ presented by renowned Theatre Personality Professor Abdus Selim.
Then a colorful Rally started at 4 pm from Nandan Mancha, BSA to National Press Club and returned to BSA. Current and ex-students of Theatre School, Teachers and theatre workers joined the rally with various placards.
The festival formalities and cultural performances took place at the National Hall, BSA at 6.00 pm.
Cultural Affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor was present the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ramendu Majumdar, Principal, Abdullah Al-Mamun Theatre School presided over the session. And Syed Apon Ahsan, Convener, Festival Celebration Committee delivered the welcome speech.
While talking, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor said that Abdullah Al-Mamun Theatre School has been producing theatre workers, actors and directors for last 27 years and they are doing good in stage, television and film sectors. He wished good luck to the school mentioning these contributions of Theatre School.
The official website of Theatre School launched in the programme. A crest handed over to Khurshid Alam, Superintendant, Theatre School as a recognition memorandum of his dedication towards the school.
After all the formalities ex-students of the school performed solo and group choreographs, sang drama songs, performed a collage from different productions by the Theatre School and played instrumental pieces. Ex-students and Teachers of Theatre School, theatre workers and theatre lovers enjoyed the festival.
